In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
On Sayyid ash-Shuhada
Imam al-Husayn
The oppressed endure hardship and strain
Suffering at the hands of the inhumane
Humanity's hearts are heavy with pain
That our souls cannot bear; can no longer contain
May peace and blessings descend like the rain
On the Messenger's
grandson, Imam al-Husayn
Radiyallahu `anh
He accepted that which Allah did ordain
Pleased with his Lord, he did not complain
He stood brave, against an evil campaign
So the true teachings of Islam would remain
May peace and blessings descend like the rain
On Kerbala's Hero, Imam al-Husayn
Radiyallahu `anh
And all the courageous virtues pertain
To he who was firm on the spiritual plane
Cowardliness he could not entertain
His commitment to Truth, ran in each vein
May peace and blessings descend like the rain
On 'the Gateway to Knowledge' and Imam al-Husayn
Radiyallahu `anh
The believer's efforts are never in vain
In the path of Allah how many were slain
Such a rank they attain, did the Prophet
explain
Their wish to come back, and be martyred again
May peace and blessings descend like the rain
On the Leader of Martyrs, Imam al-Husayn
Radiyallahu `anh
In Allah's domain only He can sustain
Oppressors do not own even a grain
Ignoring a truth most simple and plain
If they never refrain, death topples their reign
May peace and blessings descend like the rain
On the Chief of Jannah's Youth al-Husayn
Radiyallahu `anh
They persist in what God demands they abstain
Obsessed in their quest, for the mundane
They sold their souls for a temporal gain
And what they obtain will perish and wane
May peace and blessings descend like the rain
On the Prophet's
beloved, Imam al-Husayn
Radiyallahu `anh
Their egos and lusts they did not restrain
So upon their hearts grew a covering stain
The world sees their lies and deeds as profane
And their mention in history will be with disdain
May peace and blessings descend like the rain
On the purified one, Imam al-Husayn
Radiyallahu `anh
Ya Allah grant freedom to those they detain
Open the way for those they constrain
Provide them the patience and strength to maintain
And grant them firm footing on the rocky terrain
May peace and blessings descend like the rain
On the Ummah, for the sake of Imam al-Husayn
Radiyallahu `anh
Salawat on Imam al Qiblatayn
Bab ul `Ilm, Az-Zahra, and Rayhanatayn
And all in their chain like Imam Zayn
Al `Abidin Ali ibn al-Husyan
May peace and blessings descend like the rain
On the Noble Descendants of Imam al-Husayn
